Is this safe?

Who can read it?

Only your Boo. The key that unlocks the file lives in your Boo's private vault. Nobody else can open it: not the Boo team, not anyone with database access, not any other Boo.

What do I do with the file?

Send the downloaded .boosecret file to Boo and tell Boo what to do with it. Boo unlocks it privately and uses it, without ever showing the value back to you.

The locked file is safe to drop anywhere: a public channel, an email, a shared doc. Even if someone else sees it, only your Boo holds the key to open it.

What kind of encryption is this?

Standard, audited encryption built into your browser. Nothing homemade. A single-use AES-256-GCM key seals the secret and is wrapped with RSA-OAEP (SHA-256), all via your browser's built-in WebCrypto. No third-party scripts, no tracking, and no network calls once this page loads.
